Almost there...

So I have been super busy making scarves for the holiday sale next Saturday.   I'm doing the sale with my friend Jen, bettycrockerass.blogspot.com    She is very creative and a great quilter, not to mention fun to be around.  Hopefully we both sell out of all of items.

Mrs. Belote's quilt

So my friend Anne Skinner, who is now Anne Belote got married this summer!  I'm so happy for her.  We met almost 10 years ago when we both started working for BLS.  Anne has since moved on to another career but we have remained friends.  I made this quilt for her and new husband, Thom.  She told me that Thom's favorite color is orange and red and that the house is decorated in those colors.  Anne's favorite color is blue.  So I made one side for the house and the other side for Anne.   This is the first time I have pieced both sides of the quilt.  I hope she enjoys it!

My mess

I spent the last two nights ripping apart five kimonos and getting them ready to cut and sew. What a mess...thread everywhere! But now I have a nice pile of fabric to work with.

This blue scarf is one that I made using bigger panels of a blue print along with a few vintage pieces and lining the back in wool.
